We are so excited to be hosting the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence who will be training our staff with the Virtual Dementia Experience created by Second Wind Dreams. This life changing experience simulates the effects of dementia to give caregivers the opportunity to know what a person with dementia faces on a daily basis.
The tour gives the caregiver a better understanding of the challenges people encounter, as well as empowers them to provide better care and support. The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence received a grant to provide this training and we are so blessed to have our staff go through this simulation.
If you ever have the opportunity to go through a virtual dementia experience, I encourage you to do so. Different organizations are able to host these events throughout the year, so keep an out for the next one. Because of COVID, this training is reserved for our staff members, but we hope to host some trainings open for the public as soon as regulations allow.
